The Seahawks are just getting going with their first practice of the week, and while quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will likely be listed as limited, Pete Carroll said Jackson won’t throw. And for a quarterback, not throwing would certainly qualify as pretty limited.
Jackson said his injured pectoral muscle, “Feels a little better.” Noting that he “Didn’t have many strenuous throws in the game.”
Oh, and if anyone is interested, Jackson said he and Sidney Rice will be deep frying a couple of Thanksgiving turkeys. Jackson said Rice is his “assistant chef.”
OK, back to football. Receiver Ben Obomanu will sit out today with a knee/ankle injury, Carroll said, as will defensive tackle Alan Branch, who has an ankle injury.
Tackle James Carpenter should be placed on injured reserve soon with another player being added to the roster. Carpenter and guard John Moffitt, who is already on injured reserve, are both scheduled to have knee surgery this afternoon.
Safety Atari Bigby and defensive end Anthony Hargrove, who both missed last week’s game with hamstring injuries, are both expected to return to practice today, Carroll said.
