LYNNWOOD – Rodney Pilman swam a state meet qualifying time of 22.85 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to help the Mountlake Terrace Hawks defeat Oak Harbor 98-69 Thursday in the Western Conference 4A boys swimming dual meet opener for both teams.

Terrace coach John Traxler said Pilman is in top form. “This is the best he has looked in four years. He barely missed qualifying for state in the 100 free by .06.”

Pilman also took first in the100 freestyle and swam on two winning relays that were crucial in the Mountlake Terrace victory.

Oak Harbor’s Colby Wiley and Jason Hunter were double event winners.
