Who is the best prep football coach in state history?
There’s no obvious answer and it all depends on what criteria is used, but we can start a friendly debate thanks to stat-lovers like high school sports researcher David Maley. Maley just e-mailed me and other reporters an updated list of the Washington football coaches who have guided their teams to the most victories. Local legends Terry Ennis and Dick Armstrong are No. 2 and No. 3 on the list, respectively.
As many folks say, winning isn’t everything. But it sure gets people’s attention.
