One day after Washington’s one-point loss to BYU, everybody is talking about one call, which is a shame, because that unsportsmanlike penalty tainted an otherwise entertaining game.
First off, here is our coverage from the game. Make sure you also check out Jennifer Buchanan’s outstanding photo gallery while you’re there.
And don’t worry Husky fans, most of the nation, aside from BYU fans, thinks that the call was wrong. A poll on espn.com asked if the call should have been made, and as of about 1 a.m. (that’s right, this blog works for you at all hours. Sometimes anyway) 79 percent of the over 42,000 people that had voted agreed that the Huskies got jobbed.
Foxsports.com’s Matthew Zemek says flagging Locker was was “an unconscionable act.” ESPN’s Ted Miller said it was “one of the worst judgment calls you will ever see.”
Larry Farina, who was in charge of yesterday’s crew, was also the man presiding over this officiating atrocity (which benefited the Huskies, by the way).
