Do you remember the Jackson High School swimmer I wrote about last year who was allergic to chlorine?
Her name is Marina Pomar-Enders. She graduated from Jackson this past spring and now swims (very well) for Seattle University. Based on her most recent performance — four event wins in a dual meet vs. Alaska-Fairbanks — Pomar-Enders was named The Herald’s College Athlete of the Week.
It’s great to hear how well Marina is doing. She was a key part of Jackson’s INCREDIBLE state-title team last year.
In his Athlete of the Week interview with Pomar-Enders, The Herald’s Scott M. Johnson asks the swimmer about her adjustment from high school swimming to college swimming, the origin of her perfect-for-a-swimmer first name and her connection to Michael Phelps.
