I’ve been waiting for the pink salmon to show up in the central Puget Sound area and it looks like they’re here, just not in big numbers.
I was talking to Brita Fordice from the Angler Angler Fly Shop in Lake Forest Park this morning and she said they whole staff went fishing after work last week at Picnic Point in Edmonds, which is a good place to find pinks when they’re in.
Of a group of about six pretty skilled anglers, only one pink was caught.
Brita notes that if they really were in in any numbers, she would have expected to see more of them on a fly line. I would, too.
But one fish is a start..
I know they’re catch a lot of them on the west side of Whidbey Island, so it shouldn’t be long for the fish to swim around the tip of the island and make their way further north toward the Snohomish and Stillaguamish rivers.
Get you line and you flies ready.
