Can this week possibly get any better for Kori Seidlitz?
On Tuesday, the senior pitcher tossed a perfect game — no hits, no runs, no walks, no baserunners … PERFECT! — in Mountlake Terrace’s 12-0, five-inning victory over Mariner. Celebrating her 18th birthday, Seidlitz tallied nine strikeouts in the Wesco South game.
A day later, on Wednesday, Seidlitz was perfect again. She struck out 17 in Terrace’s 5-0 South triumph versus Shorecrest.
Seidlitz, a South Dakota State University recruit, already has six victories this season for Terrace (5-1 Wesco South, 6-1 overall). The Hawks’ only loss this spring was against Lynnwood, 2-0 on March 26.
In a recent Double Team reader poll that asked “Who is the area’s best softball pitcher?”, Seidlitz received just 11 votes, about 4 percent of the votes submitted.
Looks like voters greatly underestimated the pitch-perfect Seidlitz.
