Tickets are on sale now for the new Resurrection Winter Blackmouth Derby at Friday Harbor, open to four-angler teams at $400 per boat, offering $15,000 in guaranteed purse money and a first-place prize of $10,000. This newest addition to the NMTA’s Northwest Salmon Derby Series will be held Dec. 3-4 at the Port of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The event is sponsored by the San Juan Islands Chapter of the Puget Sound Anglers; proceeds benefit salmon enhancement in the San Juan Islands.
The date coincides with the opening week of the selective winter fishing season in the islands.
