Windsor has a heck of a lot to offer, but the one thing I couldn’t return to America without was a Super Bowl XL T-shirt complete with a maple leaf and the name “Windsor” on it.
This is the first Super Bowl with any kind of international flavor.
(It is really funny how Canadians have their own “country,” don’t you think? There was, like, a border crossing and everything. Agents asking questions, such as, “Why are you here, eh?” “What do you want, eh?” “When are you going to go back oot, eh?” Good times, eh?)
But when I saw this shirt at the “Sports Obsession” souvenir stand at the “Fan Zone” in Windsor, I had to have it. Everybody’s going to have the one that says Detroit, right? But only the few who dared to cross international lines (a.k.a. the ones who remembered to bring their passports) have a chance to get their hands on a Super Bowl T-shirt from another country. And, even then, they have to pony up $25, Canadian (so that’s, like, a buck fifty American, right?).
