The Phoenix Mercury’s 91-76 victory over the Tulsa Shock on Thursday night guarantees that Phoenix will face the Seattle Storm in first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The only thing yet to be decided is which team will have home-court advantage.
That will be decided on Friday night at KeyArena when the Storm host the Mercury.
Diana Taurasi scored 21 points to lead the Mercury (19-13). Liz Cambage scored 22 points to lead the Shock (3-29).
The Minnesota Lynx earned a 78-69 victory over the Chicago Sky.
Seimone Augustus scored 22 points to lead the Lynx (26-7) and point guard Lindsay Whalen turned in one of the league’s great all-around performances of all-time, scoring 20 points, dishing 10 assists and grabbing seven rebounds. But most impressive, Whalen did it without committing a single turnover. It was the first time in WNBA history that a player accomplished such a feat.
Sylvia Fowles scored 17 points for Chicago (14-18).
