Edgerrin James didn’t do much in his second practice with the Seahawks, as he still appears to be easing into things. Hard to imagine him playing Saturday given how little he has done in practice so far, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Guard/center Cory Withrow was the only new addition to the injury list, though no word as of yet why he was out. Linebacker David Hawthorne, who has been out all week with a knee sprain, returned to practice today with a brace on his knee.
As has been the case all week, the Seahawks did a lot of work with scout teams, backing up what Mora said at the beginning of the week when he said he’d treat this like a normal game week. The third preseason game is the one where the starters get the most work, so if you want to get one last look at the team before the opener, Saturday night is your best shot.
Aaron Curry spent a bit of time with the D-line when the team broke up into position groups, something he does from time to time as a way to get him more work as a pass rusher. His development there is something to keep an eye on this weekend.
On a lighter note, T.J. Houshmandzadeh practiced a bit of kicking while a punt drill was going on on the other field. It took him a few tries, but the receiver finally hit from 25 yards, though it wasn’t exactly a thing of beauty.
Let’s just say that Houshmandzadeh may be as good a receiver as his former Bengals teammate Chad Ochocinco, but he’s got a ways to go to catch the former Chad Johnson as a kicker.
