Tie keeps Stanwood close

EVERETT – The Cascade Bruins and the Stanwood Spartans played to a 0-0 Western Conference North Division tie Tuesday night at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Cascade (4-1-2 in league and overall, 14 points) lost an opportunity to stay tied with Snohomish (5-1-1, 5-1-1, 16 points) for second place, but hold a 1-point advantage on both Monroe (4-2-1, 4-2-1) and Stanwood (4-2-1, 4-2-1) for third place.

Brittany Gegax (Cascade) and Nicol Ludwig and Aleah Brock (Stanwood) recorded shutouts.

Oak Harbor 0, Mount Vernon 0: At Oak Harbor, the Wildcats and Bulldogs played to a scoreless tie in Wesco North action. Sophomore Sam Shulock had nine saves for Oak Harbor and Sara Malone recorded 17 for Mount Vernon.

Snohomish 7, Arlington 0: At Snohomish, starting Snohomish goalkeeper Grace Lee scored a goal in the second half as a forward to cap off the Panthers scoring in the Wesco North victory.

Lynnwood 1, Mariner 0: At Edmonds, Amanda Overdick’s goal in the 48th minute off Jerrica Kang’s assist proved to be enough for Lynnwood in the non-league contest. Royals goalkeepers Jessy Hernandez and Monika Hantke combined on the shutout.
