Timberwolves beat Kamiak rackets

MUKILTEO – The friendly rivalry between the Jackson and Kamiak boys tennis teams got a little cooled off Monday when Jackson took down Kamiak 6 games to 1 in the Western Conference South Division matchup.

Mike Reading started things off with a win in No.1 singles, defeating Mike Klazynski 6-0, 6-0 for the Timberwolves. Phil Kim and Nick Reed defeated Pat Byrnes and Steve Huang 6-3, 7-6, (7-4) in No.1 doubles for Jackson.

“Jackson is a very well coached team, they are tough to beat,” Kamiak coach Vic Alinen said. “Its always fun to play Jackson, but I just wish I could beat them more.”

The bright spot for Kamiak was Peter Choi, who stole Kamiak’s only victory by defeating Richard Oam 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in a very close match.
