This morning the Tips announced that Marc Paquet has been hired as the team’s new athletic trainer. Paquet takes over for Chris Walker, who stepped down to take a position in the AHL.
That means three of the four positions in the Silvertips organization that opened up this offseason have been filled (head coach, broadcaster, athletic trainer). All that remains is the vacancy left by the departure of associate head coach Jay Varady. Everett general manager Doug Soetaert has indicated he may fill the position with a strength and conditioning coach rather than another assistant coach.
