LAKE STEVENS – The Lake Stevens Vikings put together a steady display of scoring Wednesday night for a 50-37 win over Lynnwood in a non-league game played at Lake Stevens High School.

Maisie Todd, the lone returning starter from last year’s 16-4 team, led the charge for the Vikings with 16 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, an assist and two blocked shots.

“Both teams pressed and we just slowly pulled ahead,” Lake Stevens coach Steve Berg said. “We jumped out 14-4 early on and just kept playing.”

Up 24-17 at the half, Lake Stevens outscored Lynnwood by six points down the stretch, with help from Sophomore Katie Holloway, who contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds.

“The last year or two she’s really starting to come into her own and really starting to be a basketball player,” Berg said.
