BURLINGTON – After he’d scored 27 points, Burlington-Edison knew Jared Stohl would get the ball.
What they didn’t know was that he wouldn’t be shooting it.
With less than a minute to play and tied at 75, Stohl found Brandon Howell under the basket for the game-winning bucket and Marysville-Pilchuck defeated the Tigers 77-75 in a non-conference game Friday night.
Stohl is off to a hot-start in his junior season, averaging 25.5 points per game after notching 24 versus Bellingham on Tuesday.
Junior Nathan Lozeau added 16 points and eight rebounds and senior Keaton Taitingfong scored 15 points and dished out eight assists.
The Tomahawks (2-0 overall) remained unbeaten this season and are averaging 77.5 points per game.
Jacob Clem scored 20 points for the Tigers (1-1) and Kevin Arendse added 16.
