If you didn’t see last night’s broadcast of Sunday night football on NBC, you missed a rather funny scene in which former Colts coach and current TV analyst Tony Dungy called the Seahawks the best team in the NFC.
As soon as Dungy said that, his co-hosts Dan Patrick and Rodney Harrison both went nuts, thinking Dungy was crazy for saying such a thing.
“Come on,” Patrick said.
“Are you kidding me?” Harrison added. “You must have got hit upside the head with a couple of bibles or something.”
Harrison said the Giants, who come to Seattle in two weeks, are one of the NFC teams better than Seattle, “They will stomp all over the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle? Are you kidding me?”
Obviously this argument doesn’t really matter until the playoffs, but it made for a funny couple of minutes of TV.
The segment switched to the AFC later, and Dungy got a good zinger in at the end when talking about the Jets.
“They’re not a dominant team yet,” he said. “Not like Seattle.”
Pretty sure he was joking about that last part.
