GRAHAM – The Oak Harbor Wildcats’ season ended on a dismal note Saturday night with a 51-28 loss to Bethel in a Class 4A quad-district state qualifying game at Art Crate Field.
The Wildcats’ 22-point second half came a little too late after Bethel had jumped to a 44-6 lead in the first half.
Bethel had 100-yard nights from its big three.
Running back Jake Smith carried 14 times for 152 yards and three touchdowns, quarterback Chuck Hogue completed 11-of-14 passes for 147 yards and receiver Jamil Turner caught five passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Oak Harbor was led by running back Gabe Vest’s 112 yards and three scores.
