EVERETT – There was no rain at Everett Memorial Stadium on Friday night. However, the deluge from the morning and afternoon proved too much to overcome.
The scheduled Northwest League game between the Everett AquaSox and Boise Hawks was called off Friday because of wet field conditions.
The game will be made up today as part of a doubleheader with the first of two seven-inning games beginning at 6:05 p.m.
Although the rain had stopped by Friday’s 7:05 p.m. start time, the field was just too sloppy. After more than an hour’s worth of field work and waiting for the outfield grass to dry, conditions were deemed too unsafe to play the game.
The rainout is the first for the Frogs at Everett Memorial Stadium since last Aug. 29. Prior to that it had been more than two years since a game in Everett had to be postponed.
