PARIS — Organizers say the Tour de France will start in Corsica for the 100th edition of the race in 2013.
It will be the first time the race visits the French island.
Corsica is the only region of France, apart from overseas territories, that has never hosted any part of the tour.
Details about the first stages will be announced on Dec. 6.
French daily Corse Matin says the first three stages will be held on the island and visit Porto-Vecchio, Calvi, Bastia and Ajaccio.
