Today’s practice was the last day of training camp, which is a lot less significant milestone than it was when camp was held across the state in Cheney. Still, it means the players can check out of the hotel rooms they’ve called home for the last three weeks and return to their families, so it’s a significant day for them.
Pete Carroll said overall he was pleased with camp, noting that the team has learned how to practice better, but obviously the Seahawks are far from a finished practice.
Asked about Saturday’s game, Carroll said the starters would play more, but didn’t specify exactly how much. He also said RB Leon Washington, who broke his leg last season and was held out of the last preseason game, would play.
WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh returned to practice after missing three days dealing with what Pete Carroll described as a family matter.
Houshmandzadeh didn’t get into specifics about his absence, which was excused.
“It was a little minor situation, noting big,” he said. “There’s nothing to get into. It was so minor, there’s really nothing to say about it.”
Asked about Leroy Hill, whose legal matter reached some resolution yesterday, Carroll said nothing will change from team’s standpoint regarding that until the league decides whether to get involved. As for Hill’s knee injury, Carroll said he is a couple of weeks away still.
