All right, just got a call from Jon Rosen, the team’s PR guy and broadcaster. He and the team were walking along the highway near Hope, B.C., after their bus broke down, so needless to say their arrival back in Everett had been delayed.
And that was just the latest of the travel follies on this trip to Kelowna. After taking off immediately following Tuesday’s home loss to Prince Albert, the team didn’t arrive in Kelowna until 8 a.m. the following morning because of weather conditions in the pass. That’s about nine hours for what usually is about a five-hour trip.
Then they weren’t able to get out of Kelowna last night as scheduled and had to stay the night before departing. And now this. Toss a 5-1 loss to the Rockets in the mix and this was about as bad a two days as it gets for a WHL team.
