OLYMPIA — The state Fish and Wildlife Department expects 300,000 anglers to wet fishing lines on the opener of the lowland lakes trout season in Washington.
In preparation for Saturday’s opener the department has stocked more than 300 of lakes with 24 million trout. The department says most range in size from 7 to 11 inches, but the department has also planted some larger fish.
Anglers need a fishing license and a permit if they park at a state access site.
