The Minnesota Lynx defeated the San Antonio Silver Stars 85-67 on Tuesday in a decisive Game 3 to advance to the WNBA’s Western Conference Finals. It was the first playoff series victory for the Lynx in franchise history.
Seimone Augustus scored 22 points and Rebekkah Brunson added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Lynx. Sophia Young scored 17 points to lead the Silver Stars.
The Lynx will face the Phoenix Mercury in the Western Conference Finals. Game 1 of that series is at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Minneapolis. The Mercury defeated the Seattle Storm in three games to advance to the West Finals.
The Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream square off in the Eastern Conference Finals. Game 1 of that series is Thursday at 4 p.m in Indianapolis. The Fever defeated the New York Liberty in three games to advance to the East Finals, while the Dream swept the Connecticut Sun in two games.
Both conference finals series are best-of-three.
