The standout performers from Tuesday night’s high school basketball action:
BOYS
Sam Saufferer, Jackson. The senior scored 28 points in the Timberwolves’ 81-61 victory over Mariner.
Drew Magaoay, Cascade. Magaoay scored 17 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to help the Bruins avoid the upset against Kamiak.
Colby Kyle, Monroe. The 6-foot-7 sophomore posted a huge double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds as the Bearcats topped Snohomish 50-45 to clinch a spot in the 4A District 1 tournament.
GIRLS
Paisley Johnson, Glacier Peak. The junior scored 25 points in the Grizzlies’ 64-54 win over Edmonds-Woodway.
Taryn Shelley, Shorewood. The junior scored a game-high 24 points to help the Thunderbirds to a 68-30 victory over Mountlake Terrace.
