The state Department of Fish and Wildlife has closed the area known as the Tulalip Bubble to fishing on one day, June 12, so it doesn’t conflict with the Tulalip Tribes salmon ceremony.
The Tribes had planned the ceremony for June 19, but have rescheduled it for June 12.
The bubble is located west of Tulalip Bay within 2,000 feet of shore from the pilings at Old Bower’s Resort to a fishing boundary marker about 1.4 miles northwest of Hermosa Point.
The area is open Friday through 11:59 a.m. Monday each week through Sept. 5 with a daily limit of two salmon plus two additional pink salmon. It had been closed June 19, but that closure has been eliminated.
