Two seniors help Cascade win district

EVERETT – Seniors Tiffany Trieschmann and Markeeta Munger helped Cascade achieve the state meet berth it narrowly missed last year, leading the Bruins to the District 1 girls bowling championship Tuesday at Evergreen Lanes.

Trieschmann rolled a 224 game and a 587 series and Munger had games of 201 and 215 as part of a 567 series.

“We’re pretty excited,” Cascade coach Ron Hicks said.

Last year the Bruins missed going to state by two pins. This year they were undefeated at 45-0 in Wesco competition and won the district meet by almost 200 pins over second-place Jackson.

“The girls really focused up,” Hicks said.

Team scores were: Cascade 2,532, Jackson 2,345, Everett 2,787, Anacortes 2,262, Ferndale 2,147 and Mt. Vernon 1,998.

Other members of the state-bound Cascade team are: Maddie Rizzuto, Jessica VanHorn, Christina Porter, Anastasia Adams and Bekah MacNiell.
