Seattle Seahawks return man Tyler Lockett was honored Thursday by being named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Lockett, a rookie out of Kansas State, was a terror in the return game during Seattle’s first three games. He returned a a punt 57 yards for a touchdown in the Seahawks’ opening-day 34-31 overtime loss at St. Louis, then set a Seahawks record with a 105-yard kickoff return for a TD in Seattle’s 26-0 victory over Chicago last Sunday.
Including the preseason, Lockett has played seven NFL games. He has four return touchdowns.
In the regular season Lockett is averaging 13.4 yards per punt return and 34.3 yards per kickoff return.
