The Seahawks are set to practice in a few minutes, and Matt Hasselbeck is expected to be on the field. Seahawks coach Jim Mora said his quarterback will go through the early part of practice (stretch, individual drills, installation) then see how Hasselbeck is feeling and go from there. Hasselbeck’s availability for Sunday’s game won’t likely be decided until the end of the week (or perhaps Sunday).
Mora said Hasselbeck was in a lot of pain when he saw him Monday after a workout, but that the quarterback has been getting better the last two days.
“The guy is without question doing everything he can to get on the field,” Mora said.
Defensive end Patrick Kerney (groin) won’t practice today and will be evaluated later in the week.
Fullback Justin Griffith, who was re-signed yesterday, will be limited in practice today but is likely to play Sunday.
As for Walter Jones, Mora said the left tackle will continue to be out at least until the bye. That means for the time being Brandon Frye is still the starter. Mora said the team has looked at potential moves, but so far haven’t found the right fit to bring somebody in. Seattle won’t likely go into a game with only two tackles, however, so there’s a good possibility they’ll make a move late in the week to bring Kyle Williams up from the practice squad like they did on Saturday before the Colts game.
