The update on Tyler Parker, who left Wednesday night’s game because of injury, is that there is no update. Tips coach John Becanic did not know either the nature or the severity of Parker’s injury. What I can say is that he did not practice today, which probably means he won’t be suiting up this weekend.
On the plus side, call-up forward D.Jay McGrath has been retained for the weekend. McGrath was slated to return to his midget team this weekend. However, his services have been temporarily retained, meaning the Tips will still be able to field a full lineup Friday night, against Tri-City. It does mean, however, that two defensemen will be playing forward.
Another encouraging sign was the presence of Daniel Bartek at practice. Bartek was feared lost for perhaps the season with broken hand, but there he was taking part in a limited role. However, Becanic said not to read too much into Bartek’s participation and that the team still isn’t expecting an imminent return.
