UW vs. Idaho

Kickoff: 1 p.m. at Husky Stadium.

TV: No live TV. A delayed broadcast of the game will be televised on FSN at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Radio: KJR radio (950 AM).

Washington: 1-1.

Indiana: 0-3.

Washington: Keith Gilbertson (48-38 in his eighth year overall, 0-1 in his first year at Washington).

Idaho: Tom Cable (8-29 in his fourth year at Idaho).

Washington: Quarterback Cody Pickett is healthy after a partial tear in his right pectoral muscle. Reggie Williams is Washington’s all-time leading receiver and he’s just starting his junior year. Charles Frederick is a threat to break one as both a receiver and punt returner. Terry Johnson is an all-conference-caliber defensive tackle. Cornerbacks Derrick Johnson and Roc Alexander are two of the fastest at their positions. Outside linebacker Greg Carothers has made a magnificent adjustment from strong safety.

Idaho: Quarterback Michael Harrington is a brother of Detroit Lions QB Joey Harrington. Tailback Malfred Shaw has 22 rushing yards in three games. Wideout Orlando Winston has 13 catches for 170 yards. Defensive tackle Brian Howard has five tackles for loss. Outside linebacker Mike Anderson is the leading tackler, with 23. Linebacker Patrick Libey (22 tackles) is a two-time captain.

Washington: TB Chris Singleton (foot) and ILB Joe Lobendahn (knee) are out. OT Rob Meadow (knee), WR Justin Robbins (knee), WR Reggie Williams (knee), WR Charles Frederick (shoulder) and CB Derrick Johnson (hip) are probable.

Idaho: FB Keith Greer (leg) is out.

Washington: As it was against Indiana two weeks ago, the first goal for the Huskies is to further develop the running game. Watch for Rich Alexis to get the brunt of the work, with Shelton Sampson and Kenny James filling in when needed. Also, the Huskies will want to get a closer look at Isaiah Stanback at both slotback and quarterback.

Idaho: Should the Vandals play The Perfect Game and shock the Huskies with a couple of early scores, a victory is not out of the realm of possibility. After all, it was just a 41-27 game last year. Likely? Uh, no.

More interesting than the game will be the things Washington experiments with: running schemes, Stanback, etc.

Pick: Washington, 38-7.
