TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The top-ranked University of Washington won the women’s title Monday at the NCAA cross country championships.
Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech won the women’s individual title.
Oregon’s Galen Rupp outran Liberty’s Sam Chelanga to win the men’s individual title and Oregon grabbed its second consecutive championship.
Rupp, a member of the U.S. Olympic team in the 10,000 meters this summer, won the NCAA title a year after finishing second in the championship race. Chelanga of Kenya finished 5 seconds behind.
