CANCUN, Mexico — The University of Washington women tied a school record with 18 3-pointers while routing Furman 101-69 to win the Cancun Challenge.
The 18 threes tied a record set back in 2013 in Eugene, Ore. when Washington also made 18 triples against Oregon. On that afternoon, Kristi Kingma set the individual school record of 11.
The Huskies (5-1) needed just 28 attempts to make the 18 3-pointers for a long-distance shooting percentage of 64.3.
Eight different UW players made a 3-pointer, led by Jazmine Davis who made five of six.
Davis led the Huskies with 26 points and was named the tournament’s MVP, and Plum (17) joined her on the all-tournament team.
