SEATTLE — Three University of Washington football players were honored on the All-Pacific-12 Conference teams announced Monday.
Junior running back Chris Polk was the Huskies’ lone representative on the first team. Senior linebacker Cort Dennison and senior offensive tackle Senio Kelemete were named to the second team.
Polk was one of two tailbacks named to the first team, joining Oregon star LaMichael James. Polk rushed for 1,341 yards and 11 touchdowns this season while moving into second place on the school’s all-time rushing list. In each of his first three full seasons at UW, Polk has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing.
Dennison was the conference’s leading tackler, making him the third UW linebacker to earn that distinction in the past three years. Kelemete served as UW’s left tackle and was a team captain.
Three Washington State players were named to the second team: wide receiver Marquess Wilson, defensive lineman Travis Long and linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis.
UW quarterback Keith Price was among six Huskies who earned honorable mention, along with with wide receivers Jermaine Kearse and Devin Aguilar, defensive tackle Alameda Ta’amu, cornerback Desmond Trufant and freshman tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck was named the Pac-12’s offensive player of the year. The defensive honors went to Cal linebacker Mychal Kendricks. USC’s Marqise Lee and Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas shared all-freshman offense honors, while the freshman defensive player of the year was USC linebacker Dion Bailey.
Coach of the year honors went to Stanford’s David Shaw, who is in his first year after taking over for Jim Harbaugh.
