Here’s an invitation to come to my seminar on Saturday April 30 in Ellensburg at the fly fishing and tying exposition put on by the Washington state council of the Federal of Fly Fishers.
The only problem is you have to be an early riser, since my seminar on fishing the Grande Ronde River in southeast Washington for summer run steelhead is at 8:30 a.m. in the Heritage Room.
That’s early even if you’re already in Ellensburg and too darn early if you’re driving in that day from the Everett or Seattle areas.
But if you’re interested in the Ronde, I hope it will be worth your while. Since I have a lot of color slides, the presentation will be an old school slide show on where to go, what to use, and what to expect to catch.
The Ronde gets a lot of pressure these days, but it’s the best river I know, with the possible exception of the Deschutes in Oregon, for catching a steelhead on a dry fly.
I do better when I talk less and spend more time answering questions, some bring those with it.
If you can’t make it that early, definitely come because the other presenters later in the day are great and there will be great fly tiers all day long.
If you don’t make it at all and want to know more about fishing the Ronde, don’t worry. I’ll include what you need to know in a post here later.
