KEIZER, Ore. — The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes pounded out 14 hits and scored 13 runs on their way to a 13-4 blowout victory over the Everett AquaSox on Sunday night at Volcanoes Stadium.
Salem Keizer used a four-run third inning to take a 4-2 lead and again scored four runs in the eighth to put Everett in a nine-run hole heading into the game’s final frame.
Yorlis Rodriguez and Armani Smith each had three hits and combined to drive in four runs to lead Salem-Keizer.
Jasier Herrera (2-1) picked up the victory, allowing four runs and nine hits over five innings. He struck out five and walked one.
Everett’s Jorge Benitez (2-3) allowed seven runs over 3.1 innings in a losing effort. Benitez allowed six hits and three walks.
