Jenna Von Moos, a senior setter for 14th-ranked Seattle Pacific University, was named the Sports Imports/American Association of Volleyball Coaches Division II National Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 16.
Von Moos, a graduate of Stanwood High School, led the Falcons to victories over No. 21 Central Washington and Western Oregon.
In a four-game win over Central Washington, Von Moos handed out 73 assists – the most ever in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference four-game match and equaling the third-highest total in GNAC history – and she added nine digs to the defensive effort.
Against Western Oregon, Von Moos dished out another 57 assists and added nine more digs.
The Falcon senior finished the week with 130 assists, bringing her career total to 3,757, which leaves her ranked fourth in conference history.
Von Moos is the third Seattle Pacific player to be named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week, and the first since 1994, SPU officials said.
