The candidates are the winners of the four athlete-of-the-week polls during the month.

Below are the candidates for The Herald’s Prep Athlete of the Month for March. They were the winners of the four athlete-of-the-week polls during the month. The balloting for the athlete of the month closes at midnight Sunday.

Malik Dotson | Lakewood | Football (March 1-7)

Dotson, a senior, scored on runs of 62, 5, 32, 57 and 9 yards while racking up 225 yards and five touchdowns on 13 carries in the Cougars’ 69-0 victory over Marysville Getchell. He added a reception for 15 yards. Dotson won the poll for the week of March 1-7 by claiming 539 of 1,222 (44.1%) votes.

Tyson Lang | Glacier Peak | Football (March 15-21)

Lang, a senior, completed 18 of 30 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns in the Grizzlies’ 39-6 victory over Archbishop Murphy on March 19. The Glacier Peak quarterback won the poll for the week of March 15-21 by claiming 623 of 3,082 (20.2%) votes.

Jayden Limar | Lake Stevens | Football (March 22-28)

Limar, a sophomore, racked up three touchdowns and 187 yards from scrimmage on just 12 touches in the Vikings’ 43-36 victory over Marysville Pilchuck. Limar ran for 131 yards and two scores on eight carries and caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown. The sophomore running back won the poll for the week of March 22-28 by claiming 486 of 2,164 (22.5%) votes.

Madison Nguyen | Archbishop Murphy | Volleyball (March 8-14)

Nguyen, a junior, posted 29 digs, 13 kills and three aces in a 3-1 loss to Shorewood. She won the poll for the week of March 8-14 by claiming 692 of 2,763 (25.1%) votes.
