Bubba Palacol | Marysville Getchell boys basketball
The senior guard poured in a game-high 41 points and knocked down a pair of late free throws to lead the Chargers to an overtime victory over Squalicum on Dec. 7. Palacol also scored 26 points on both Dec. 3 and Dec. 5, giving him 93 points for the week. Palacol won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Dec. 1-7 by claiming 345 (70.12%) of the 492 votes.

Owen Collins | Snohomish boys swimming
Collins helped Snohomish pick up victories against Lynnwood and Meadowdale by winning the 100 butterfly, the 100 backstroke and participating on the Panthers’ 400-meter freestyle relay team.
Jo Lee | Glacier Peak boys basketball
The senior guard scored 30 points as the Grizzlies took down Arlington 70-62 on Dec. 13. The next night, Lee poured in another 26 points to lead GP past Snohomish.
Akira Shaw | Everett girls basketball
The junior guard outscored crosstown-rival Cascade all by herself on Dec. 13 as the Seagulls won 63-23. Shaw also scored 15 on Dec. 11 against Lynnwood.
Nina Wilson | Lynnwood girls basketball
The frosh guard set Lynnwood’s freshman record with 32 points — including 20 in the second half — to propel the Royals (1-2) to their first win of the season on Dec. 11. Wilson added 14 points against Edmonds-Woodway on Dec. 13.
