The senior scored 31 points against Cedar Park Christian (Lynnwood) on Jan. 24. McLean won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Jan. 12-18 by claiming 413 (47.58%) of the 868 votes.
This week’s nominees
Brooke Blachly | Archbishop Murphy girls basketball
The junior totaled 12 3-pointers in the Wildcats’ two games last week. Blachly scored 22 points and drilled six 3s to help the Wildcats remain undefeated in league play in a 67-56 win over second-place Meadowdale on Jan. 30. She also hit 6 3s while scoring 26 points against Arlington on Jan. 27.
Cam Hiatt | Edmonds-Woodway boys basketball
The senior scored 38 points and pulled down eight rebounds on Feb. 1 to knock off Meadowdale in the annual Rubber Chicken rivalry game. On Jan. 28 against Shorecrest, Hiatt contributed 17 points and six boards.
Brynna Pukis | Glacier Peak girls basketball
The senior scored 24 points against Jackson on Jan. 31.
Chayce Waite-Kellar | Monroe boys basketball
The junior scored 18 points against Snohomish on Jan. 28, and his 14 points and 16 rebounds on Jan. 31 helped the Bearcats clinch their first league title since 2011 with a win over Marysville Getchell.
