The senior guard scored 23 points on Jan. 3, 22 points on Dec. 28 and 22 points on Dec. 26 to lead the Grizzlies. Pukis won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week by claiming 261 (63.97%) of the 408 votes.

Mia Cienega | Everett girls wrestling
Cienega won 190-pound weight class championship at the Braided 64, which is one of the largest all-girls tournaments in U.S. Cienega pinned her first three opponents in under a minute, and finished off her semifinal and championship match opponents in the first round.
Juhyung Lee | Jackson boys swimming
Lee swam Class 4A state meet qualifying times in the 200 individual medley (1 minute, 52.44 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (47.26 seconds) and also led Jackson’s 200-medley and 400-freestyle relay teams to victory against Mountlake Terrace on Tuesday.
Davien Parks, Tulalip Heritage boys basketball
The junior guard scored a game-high 31 points against Providence Classical Christian on Tuesday and added 18 against Neah Bay on Saturday as the Hawks improved to 11-0.
Sammie Thoma | Glacier Peak girls basketball
The senior scored 28 points against Kamiak on Jan. 8.
Ellalee Wortham, Stanwood girls basketball
The junior scored a game-high 29 points, including four 3-point baskets, against Archbishop Murphy on Jan. 6. She added 24 against Snohomish on Jan. 8, making 10 of 11 free throws.
