The Athlete of the Week nominees for Nov. 3-9. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Wednesday’s paper.

Grady Fournier | Arlington Boys Cross Country

The senior finished second at the 4A District 1/2 Cross Country Championships on Nov. 2 with a personal-record time of 15 minutes, 15.29 seconds to lead the Eagles to the team title. Fournier won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Oct. 27 – Nov. 2 by claiming 345 (43.45%) of the 794 votes.

This week’s nominees

Cole Adams | King’s Football

The junior quarterback threw for 110 yards, two touchdowns and three tw0-point conversions and also carried the ball 11 times for 43 yards and four TDs in the Knights’ 46-20 playoff win over Kalama.

Laura Eichert | Lake Stevens Volleyball

The junior outside hitter registered 30 kills and 10 digs as the Vikings clinched the Wesco 4A crown with a 3-1 win over Glacier Peak on Nov. 4.

Jacob Hopkins | Cascade Cross Country

The junior claimed his third straight state title in the boys ambulatory race at the state cross country championships on Nov. 9 at Sun Willows Golf Course. Hopkins shaved over 24 seconds off the course record time he set last year by finishing the 2.1-mile race in 12 minutes, 57.5 seconds.

Olivia Hoyla | Jackson Swimming

Olivia Hoyla won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 backstroke with automatic state-qualifying times and participated in two winning relays as the Timberwolves swam away with the District 1 title on Nov. 9.

Caleb Reed | Arlington Football

The senior running back bulldozed his way to four rushing touchdowns and established a new school single-game rushing record of 309 yards on 27 carries in Arlington’s 56-35 playoff victory over North Creek on Nov. 9.

Olivia Taylor | Shorecrest Soccer

The sophomore forward Olivia tallied two goals in a 4-1 winner-to-state, loser-out victory over Monroe on Nov. 7.
