The Athlete of the Week nominees for for Sept. 8-14. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s paper.

Anthony Korr | Darrington | Football

Korr registered 147 total yards and two touchdowns in the Loggers’ season-opening loss to Naselle. Korr won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Aug. 31-Sept. 6 by claiming 300 (32.19%) of the 932 votes.

This week’s nominees

Melissa Hadley | Arlington | Volleyball

On Sept. 9, Hadley registered 22 kill in a Arlington’s 3-1 triumph over Meadowdale. Two days later, she led the Eagles over Stanwood with 20 kills and three aces.

Ava Gonzalez | Everett | Volleyball

In two matches last week, the sophomore tallied 46 kills, 23 digs and seven aces.

Janie Hanson | Edmonds-Woodway | Soccer

Hanson recorded a hat trick as the Warriors defeated Marysville Getchel 4-0 on Sept. 10.

Nagi Kimura | Lake Stevens | Swimming

Kimura won the 50-meter freestyle, the 100 freestyle and anchored Lake Steven’s 200-freestyle and 200-medley relay teams in the Vikings’ 137-49 victory over Monroe.
