Vote for The Herald’s Prep Football Athlete of the Week for Sept. 22-28

The Football Athlete of the Week nominees for Sept. 22-28. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Wednesday’s paper.

Hunter Anderson | Darrington

The junior quarterback completed 10 of 17 passes for 407 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for a 40-yard TD among his 59 rushing yards as the Loggers outlasted the Charles Wright, 48-42, in a Northwest 2B/1B game. Anderson won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for Sept. 15-21 by claiming 237 (42.7%) of 555 votes.

This week’s nominees

Mason Davis | Monroe

The senior wide receiver ran the ball twice for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and caught two passes for 57 yards and a TD in Monroe’s 49-0 win over Everett on Friday night.

Keagan Howard | Lake Stevens

The senior linebacker recorded seven tackles, including three for loss, and scored on a 33-yard fumble return TD in the Vikings 56-6 win over Mariner. Playing in just the first half, he also contributed on offense with a 22-yard TD reception.

Arthur Moore | Darrington

The senior running back led the Loggers to a 50-0 victory over Crescent with 124 yards and a touchdown on Saturday.

Cole Truant | Jackson

The senior receiver made a one-handed catch to score a game-winning, 52-yard touchdown in Jackson’s 28-21 victory over Everett School District-rival Cascade on Friday. Truant finished with five catches for 87 yards and two scores.
