Vote for The Herald’s Prep Football Game of the Week

Week 1 of the high school football season is set to kick off this Friday. We want your help in selecting one of the two games we’ll cover this week. Voting closes at noon Wednesday.

This week’s nominees

Glacier Peak at Snohomish, Friday, 7 p.m.

The Grizzlies and Panthers meet for the 10th edition of the Dick Armstrong Cup. Glacier Peak has won all nine matchups in this crosstown rivalry.

North Creek at Lakewood, 7 p.m.

The Class 2A Cougars host the 4A Jaguars in an intriguing interclassification Week 1 clash. Lakewood, which made the 2A state quarterfinals in 2019, was originally scheduled to face 2019 2A state runner-up Steilacoom before the Sentinels had to cancel for COVID-related issues. North Creek made the Week 10 playoffs in 2019.

Arlington at Edmonds-Woodway, 5 p.m.

The Eagles and Warriors meet in a nonleague game that features one of the top contenders in Wesco 3A South.

Seattle Prep at Archbishop Murphy, 7 p.m.

Perennial 2A powerhouse Archbishop Murphy gets an early test when it hosts the 3A Panthers of the Metro League. Both of these squads made the state playoffs during the last full-length season.

Note: This poll had been updated with Lakewood’s new Week 1 opponent.
