SEATTLE — Washington’s football team is picking up a new defensive end: basketball forward Clarence Trent.
The school confirmed on Tuesday morning that Trent will participate in spring practices for the Huskies as a walk-on. Spring practice began on Tuesday afternoon.
Trent, a freshman, appeared in 23 games during the basketball season in limited minutes. He averaged 1.8 points in 5 minutes per game. His season high was eight points in November against Portland State.
Trent is listed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds on the Huskies roster. The school didn’t have any information listed about his football background.
