Sometimes per-game scoring averages are misleading. With that in mind, here’s how the same players factor into their teams’ overall offensive picture. This time they are ranked by the percentage of their team’s points they account for. This can also be deceptive when considering players who have missed some games, but it’s just a different way to look at scoring impact.

Based on this formula, Marysville-Pilchuck’s Taylor Stevens is the most valuable boys scorer in Wesco, accounting for a sizable 44.0 percent of his team’s points. Among girls, Shorewood’s Becky Farden is nearly as crucial to her team’s offensive output. Farden scores 39.6 percent of the Thunderbirds’ points.

Boys

1. Taylor Stevens, Marysville-Pilchuck: 22.9 points per game/team’s 52.1 ppg = 44.0 percent

2. Tarik Kunduklija, Mountlake Terrace: 17.8 ppg/team’s 47.6 ppg = 37.4

3. Tomas Sanchez, Shorewood: 16.4 ppg/team’s 48.3 ppg = 34.0

4. Chris McGrath, Cascade: 20.1 ppg/team’s 59.7 ppg = 33.7

5. Rodrick Rumble, Oak Harbor: 19.0 ppg/team’s 58.4 ppg = 32.5

6. Brett Kingma, Jackson: 15.5 ppg/team’s 49.5 ppg = 31.3

7. Flynn Mattson, Everett: 15.3 ppg/team’s 50.0 ppg = 30.6

8. Mark Golike, Shorecrest: 15.0 ppg/team’s 50.4 ppg = 29.8

9. Karsten Strieby, Mountlake Terrace: 14.0 ppg/team’s 47.6 ppg = 29.4

10. Zach Wilde, Snohomish: 15.7 ppg/team’s 57.3 ppg = 27.4

Girls

1. Becky Farden, Shorewood: 18.5 ppg/team’s 46.7 ppg = 39.6 percent

3. Kelsey Patrick, Kamiak: 17.7 ppg/team’s 54.6 ppg = 32.4

5. Mary Ochiltree, Lake Stevens: 19.6 ppg/team’s 63.0 ppg = 31.1

6. Jocelyn Riordan, Shorecrest: 14.9 ppg/team’s 50.3 ppg = 29.6

7. Britt Harris, Marysville-Pilchuck: 15.7 ppg/team’s 54.1 ppg = 29.0
