SNOHOMISH — The Western Conference played two all-state feeder games Thursday at Snohomish High School. The South team, which combined with members from the North because of a lack of players, defeated the North 15-5 in the first game and 5-0 in the second game.
After the game 10 players were nominated to play in the all-state series, a four-team tournament which takes place June 12-13 in Yakima.
The nominated players were, infielders Sam Parris and Zac Israel of Lake Stevens; pitcher Matt Cooper, outfielder Austin Denton and infielder JV Estella of Marysville-Pilchuck; pitcher Andrew Groves and infielder Eric Hovey of Kamiak; shortstop Taylor Brennan of Meadowdale; pitcher Aaron Brooks of Mountlake Terrace, and infielder Lance Foster of Glacier Peak.
Foster is the first player ever nominated from Glacier Peak.
Groves had two hits and two RBI and pitched three scoreless innings. Foster had two hits and three RBI in the second game. Brennan had two hits and two RBI in each game. Brooks also threw three scoreless innings.
Kyle Pace of Marysville-Pilchuck was not nominated for the All-State game, but hit a home run.
