My hotel is a 5-minute drive from the LA Coliseum. I just got to my seat in the press box, 1 hour, 15 minutes after leaving the hotel. Fun, fun, fun. And then I got to what I thought was my parking area, and no one seemed to know where I was supposed to park. So we’ll find out in a few hours if I picked the right area.
There was a bit of a sign that today might be a good day for the Huskies, though. As I crept along Martin Luther King Blvd., a woman jogged by accompanied by her Husky. So take that for what it’s worth.
Also, the public parking places across the street from the stadium were $80. Yes, $80. Are you kidding me? And what’s even sadder is, most of them were filled up. Who can afford to pay that?
From a football standpoint, we’re about 49 minutes from kickoff, the Huskies just ran on the field to warm up. It’s a beautiful day, and quite a view from the press box (if you can see through the smog, which is pretty dramatic off in the hills). I’m expecting at least 90,000 people here.
