Where are they now?

Several of the Silvertips’ key contributors from last season aren’t returning to the team. Here’s where they’ve gone and what they’re doing this season:

Defenseman

Last season: Had seven goals and 16 assists in 64 games.

Now: Signed by the New York Rangers prior to the season, is in camp with the Rangers and expected to play with New York’s American Hockey League affiliate in Hartford.

Right wing

Last season: Had 13 goals and 13 assists in 71 games.

Now: Traded to Lethbridge in the offseason as part of the deal that brought John Lammers to Everett. Billsten is training with Lethbridge.

Defenseman

Last season: Played all 72 games, splitting time between defense and forward and registering two goals and 11 assists.

Now: A late overager casualty (just released on Thursday), he has returned home to Kelvington, Saskatchewan, to either await a trade or make arrangements to play Junior A.

Jeremy Creurer

Center

Last season: Had one goal in 20 games before being forced to the sidelines because of a concussion.

Now: Forced to retire from hockey because of the concussions, he’s enrolled at the University of Regina.

Marc Desloges

Left wing

Last season: Had two goals and four assists in 17 games before being traded to Swift Current.

Now: Training with Swift Current.

Tyler Dietrich

Left wing

Last season: Overager had 13 goals and 13 assists in 42 games, but was limited by injuries.

Now: Playing for the University of British Columbia.

Barry Horman

Right wing

Last season: Overager totaled three goals and six assists in 19 games before being traded to Swift Current.

Now: Pursuing options in the East Coast Hockey League.

Alex Leavitt

Right wing

Last season: After arriving via trade from Swift Current, the overager became Everett’s top offensive player with 13 goals and 35 assists in 49 games. Then led the team in scoring during the playoffs with six goals and five assists.

Now: Signed to play professionally with Alaska of the East Coast Hockey League, but also trying out with Nebraska of the American Hockey League.

Mitch Love

Defenseman

Last season: Overager had nine goals and 20 assists in 59 games. Served as Everett’s captain.

Now: Originally signed to play professionally with San Diego of the East Coast Hockey League, was also invited to attend training camp with Colorado of the NHL, where he impressed enough to receive a tryout with the Avalanche’s AHL team in Lowell, Mass.

Brady Mason

Center

Last season: Did not register a point in 14 games before being reassigned.

Now: Training with Kamloops.

Jovan Matic

Center

Last season: Played 12 games, registering one goal and one assist before being released.

Now: Training with Vancouver.

Matt Sawa

Center

Last season: Had one assist in 25 games.

Now: Released by Everett in the offseason. Now training with Calgary.

Michael Wall

Goaltender

Last season: Was 24-22-8 and finished fifth in the league in goals against average (1.92), third in save percentage (.931) and second in shutouts (10) as Everett’s No. 1 goalie.

Now: Trying out with the NHL’s Anaheim Mighty Ducks with a realistic chance of receiving a professional contract. His junior rights were traded to Regina.
